Psyllium fiber can be used to reduce hard stools. Psyllium fibers mix with the intestinal contents and swell as they absorb water. This will give you more and softer stools. This stimulates the bowel to work harder. Psyllium fiber can also solidify stool by binding to excess fluid in the gut. This happens if you use psyllium fiber with little water.
